Nba 2k15 pc next gen11/9/2022 Put simply if you’re running anything other than Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 8 you’ll be stuck playing NBA 2K14 until you upgrade your O/S! 75% of Steam users are (thankfully!) now using 64-bit OS’s, but a significant number are still using 32-bit Windows 7, XP or Vista (11.68%, 4.94% and 2.85% respectively, at the time of writing. The combination of DX11 and the shift to 64-bit Windows is a really big deal. The install size also raises an interesting question about whether 2K15 will come on several DVDs (dual-layer DVD’s hold a maximum of 8.5GB – perhaps we’ll see something like Windows 95 floppy disk set?) or, as is starting to become increasingly common with other titles, a Steam download code inside the retail packaging? Compression will certainly reduce the installer size by a fair amount, but you should still expect a hefty download! This will be more of a problem for people who purchase on release day rather than pre-ordering (as the game downloads prior to release day and unlocks on the day), the download time could potentially run into several days for those without a very fast internet connection. An unwanted side effect of this is that the download size will be significantly larger than ’14 was. Again, big hard drives are very common on modern PCs and even those with full drives should be able to uninstall stuff (NBA 2K14?), delete things or shift files into the cloud ( Dropbox!) in a squeeze. The required hard drive space is a massive increase (probably due to the increased textures) and runs close to the install size for NBA 2K14 on the Xbox One. 8GB is now the norm for gaming PCs (as we can see from the Steam Hardware and Software Survey), with 16GB becoming increasingly popular as memory prices continue to drop and 64 bit operating systems becoming the norm. Let’s just drill through those numbers a bit: there isn’t too much to say about the need for a gamepad, the DX9 compatible soundcard (pretty standard on any modern PC), or even the 4GB of RAM, (if you fail at the 4GB of RAM stage you’ll almost certainly fail the other requirements!). Sound Card: : 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Graphics: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor or equivalent Video: Shader Model 3.0 support with 512MB Ram (Nvidia(R) GeForce(R) 8800 GT or better) Processor: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor or equivalent Note: “recommended” is the PC you need to play the game and fully enjoy all aspects smoothly, you can find the minimum specification at the bottom of the page.Ĭompare this to the recommended spec for NBA 2K14: Hard Drive: 50 or more GB available space Graphics: DirectX 11.0 compatible (2 GB) or better Those playing NBA 2K14 on an older system or laptop might want to compose themselves before reading these specifications! In short if you don’t have a fairly modern gaming PC you are going to have trouble running this game! I suspect the requirements may come as a shock to many (especially those who haven’t seen other next-gen ports, such as Watch Dogs). It goes without saying that the improvement in graphics has caused a big shift in the recommended system requirements. Amazon is also listing an October 7th release date for NBA 2K15 PC). PC gamers will also get the game three days before console owners (compare the Steam screenshot with the previous “ October 10th” press release. The Steam pre-order page for NBA 2K15 (PC) confirms some of the rumours that have been surfacing recently, the game will indeed be “a fully featured Next-Gen experience” (at a heavy cost, in terms of hardware).
